= Kyouran Kazoku Nikki~ :) =

yayZ~ I've finally found the subbed videos for the final 2 episodes yesterday~ :)

I must say that this is a pretty great anime.. Family Frenzy.. Really very crazy, frenzied, somewhat nonsensical at times and lighthearted!! Ultra kawaiiiii~ And somehow, I like/appreciate the issues brought up explicitly in this anime (only whether you recognize the "explicitness" of how it's brought up, if not it's too implicit to be noticed), albeit crazily, or as crazy as it gets, but it just makes the "heavy" issues easier to swallow and digest.

Like, there are certain episodes and/or running themes throughout the anime which explored issues such as political stunts/stance, "animal rights", GLBT, what it means to be a family or being a family, trust, relationships, personalities, responsibilities, what are threats, breaking stereotypes etc etc. =)

niceeeeZ~ :) :)

= Mid Life Crisis. =

"People who undergo midlife crisis often act as adolescents again. ... the person experiments with alternative lifestyles, forms new relationships and abandons old ones, and gives up previous ambitions and responsibilities. In midlife crisis, people often change their careers, change their spouses, change their religions, change where they live, or do various combinations of these." ~ Personality Psy

hehZ. Does this explain pseudo-shounen? The bouts of immaturity, irrationality, impulsivity, courageousness, unconventionality etc?

bahZ. Just a really random musing 'cos this paragraph caught my attention while I was mugging.

The story ended, where it has never started, nor flipped a page from the middle of the chapter.
It is all but a pause in writing a story. The pen faltered, caught itself, and erased the possible existence of this little story, in the grand scheme of entirety.
Say unconventionality, perhaps the pen was meant to be conventional & uncourageous.

= Love at First Sight - Wislawa Szymborska =

YYC, remembered I told both of you of this beautifully written/translated poem? Here's it. :)
It's really sweet. :)
(There's Chinese version too, but the English version sounds more poetic, imho. =P)

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

They're both convinced
that a sudden passion joined them.
Such certainty is more beautiful,
but uncertainty is more beautiful still.

Since they'd never met before, they're sure
that there'd been nothing between them.
But what's the word from the streets, staircases, hallways--
perhaps they've passed by each other a million times?

I want to ask them
if they don't remember--
a moment face to face
in some revolving door?
perhaps a "sorry" muttered in a crowd?
a curt "wrong number"caught in the receiver?--
but I know the answer.
No, they don't remember.

They'd be amazed to hear
that Chance has been toying with them
now for years.

Not quite ready yet
to become their Destiny,
it pushed them close, drove them apart,
it barred their path,
stifling a laugh,
and then leaped aside.

There were signs and signals,
even if they couldn't read them yet.
Perhaps three years ago
or just last Tuesday
a certain leaf fluttered
from one shoulder to another?
Something was dropped and then picked up.
Who knows, maybe the ball that vanished into childhood's thicket?

There were doorknobs and doorbells
where one touch had covered another beforehand.
Suitcases checked and standing side by side.
One night. perhaps, the same dream, grown hazy by morning.

Every beginning
is only a sequel, after all,
and the book of events
is always open halfway through.

ThankZ for the poem btw~ :)

= Nabari no Ou, ended. =

The art of nonchalance and indifference.
And the art of making the first step.

Basically, an anime which is more of character development than plot development. And BOOO~ There were so few fighting scenes. Was pretty crushed by how the anime ended though.. bittersweet and lingering feeling, that you feel like changing something. How can things end so... seemingly peaceful?
It made all the inital nonchalance and indifference.. a joke.

The art of nonchalance and indifference.
After months of neglecting that space, I decided to revisit it for some little.. updates? Or rather, I just wanted to see if I've weaned off the bad habit. hurhur. And, after the little visit, it was only to find and realize a sense of foreignness. HehZ. You knew all along that was the case, it's a validation that's needed.
Now, there's nothing more to lose.
But the damn thing is, I'm sure to encounter the foreign sense 9 months later, whether I like it or not, even if I've managed to squirm myself out of the situations within the next 9 months. bahZ. I don't look forward to the day.

sheesh. I really didn't see this coming. omg. Ep 103 is the final for DGM?!?!?! bahZ.. another zetsubo, in another sense. -_-"

hahahZ. Totally imagine how stunned I was when I was watching the preview for Ep 103.. It said "The last episode". WellZ, some forums explained that the anime is catching up to the manga soon.. so they decided to create some rosy ending (which is quite rosy, and pretty much leaving it in enough suspense to continue the storyline) and end the anime instead.
Bookman: This could be a warning given by the Earl. It seemed that the Earl could have wiped the Dark Order out long ago.. What if he kept us alive for a reason?
hehZ. But I still find it too stunning, because the "catastrophic" event that happened in Ep. 100 ended in simply 3 episodes! hahZ. machiam a mad rush by the producers to end the anime asap.

hahahZ. well, I hope the next season comes out soon!!!!! :) :)

Yukimi: Because in the end, people can't go on living without doing so. That's just how it is.

~ * ~

If only.
How detached & isolated can you be?

~ * ~

So far, there isn't much about this anime which really captivates me. Not even the storyline. But..
1. I watch this anime solely for the ninja fighting scenes (or so they say are ninja skills) and probably for some character portrayals.
hahahZ. 'cos the fighting moves are pretty well animated, imho. Very swift, smooth and sei~ hahahZ. =P (For instance, Ep 1 I think, the assassination at the classroom) hehZ. But these scenes are rare.. I hope there'll be more intense fighting scenes like that.
2. And.. the ending song for this anime is extremely nice!! :) Hikari, sang by Elisa. :)
3. Kotarou is soo kawaii~ hehehZ. This character reminds me soooo much of Komui from DGM & Lloyd from Code Geass. teeheeZ. =P

= DGM Ep. 100 - zetsubo!!! =

Perseverance in pursuing DGM till the 100th episode is definitely a milestone in my anime spree (soley DGM) which started since.. May 2008? (the 4th, 7th & 27th May 08 entries here are on DGM too. :))

But this iconic milestone left me screaming "ZETSUBO!!!!!" after completing the episode!!!

OMG. It's totally.. depressing. oh manZ. Everyone and almost everything wiped out at Dark Order HQ! I wonder how's the next episode's gonna be like. And I wonder does DGM follows the manga in these few episodes (since I don't read the manga), 'cos reviews said for about 20+ episodes it didn't follow the manga closely.

I love DGM, it's definite. :)
I like the way this anime gives me room for deeper analysis and interpretation of the seemingly cliche storyline you see everywhere of simply zapping and killing Akuma.

I took the liberty of reading it in terms of
1. Akuma = A.I. (read "dystopia"), or
2. Akuma = inner demon/ desires in humans (xin mo).
Well, it's not like it's going to be understandable if I rattle on about my analysis here, so I shall stop at that. hehehZ. If anyone's interested, just ask me about it. :)

But what the Bookman said in this episode struck a chord in me: "Level 4 Akuma.. will this weapon evolve even more? Even though it's a machine, it has the appearance of a man.." (And to add, a creepy childlike voice was chosen to portray this sadistic killing machine too. A killing machine that kills anything in its path, even its comrades. omg.)

oh wellZ. 20 minutes relieved from schoolwork ends up in zetsubo and full of thoughts. hahahZ. But DGM roX!! =P

Sometimes, you confuse yourself with the "Convenience of Circumstances".
Sometimes, things don't happen the way you wished for it. Or that things do happen the way you want it coincidentally, but perhaps it's just because others wished for it, for a totally different objective. Or that it's simply forced into circumstances out of mere convenience. Or...
But I guess the chance is gone, or never had been, since it was mere convenience, nothing more than that, and very much less than that.
Because when you're left drowning, grabbing anything that's nearby, no matter how minimal a chance of survival, beats being drowned.
's ok. At least someone's saved. There's no need for gratitude, 'cos such a thought never ever occur to one.

An story that I've read off a blog somewhere.. It's meaningful, imho.

The head of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to a country with a less-than-noble purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return, the father asked his son: "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad," the son replied. "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Tell me, what did you learn from the trip?"

The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have a whole galaxy of stars at night.
"Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
"We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless.

Then, his son added: "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."

Note: Just in case you're a Code Geass fan, this entry contains some spoilers for this anime~

omg!!! Totally unexpected!!!! I've always thought that Lelouch would somehow be able to save Nunnally in Ep 18!! *sadZ*
Even though I speculate that if she didn't manage to be rescued by Lelouch, she might have died from Rolo's hands sooner or later (but I'm glad that didn't happen because it's already quite heartwrenching that Shirley died that way..)
urghZ.. But I just didn't expect that Nunnally would die from Suzaku firing the FLEIA!! But I'm impressed, totally. The butterfly and multiplier effect just from the simple Geass of "Live on".
- applauds -
But sighZ, so ironic and unexpected for Lelouch isn't it, when his initial objective was to save Nunnally, and now to have caused his own sister's death with his own hands inadvertently.

haiZ~ been weeks since I last caught up with this anime since am so busy.. These 20 minutes are but a little getaway from academic and non-fictional stuff.
but arghZ!! Why are most of the female characters so ill-fated!!!
Euphemia (didn't really like her anyway, but to be maligned and labelled as "Massacre Princess", it's quite unfortunate), Shirley, Viletta, C.C., and now Nunnally.. hmmmZ. I hope Kallen, Cornelia and Rakshata won't meet with such tragic endings too.. (Though I seriously doubt so for Kallen and Cornelia, because I think they're characters who are even more tragically loaded than those above named)

= Haunting Memories, before the end of Year 4. =

Recently, am bombarded daily by a lot of haunting memories of those stupidest and weirdest and saddest things that I've ever done/encountered in the last few years.
It's really unfathomable why these memories came creeping back (especially when I already had my hands full dealing with leading a life of a final year student with zest, and a mind filled to tbe brim with thoughts on fyp in every other hour and/or projects).
And all the more unfathomable is why I did what I did then, to cause those stupidness and sadness. bahZ. All the stupidity of the moment. Let's hope some bugs of anesthetic forgetfulness catch them (mostly individuals) unaware, and wipe out their memories of those parts. HAHZ. (**On second thought, catch me too! Memories which are both sad and haunting isn't a good combination. hahaZ.)
Then again, perhaps age and the time of graduation is catching up (sooner than one would ever expect, even though that will be at least 9 months away). Like the saying of, the aged who before imminent death, recalls and reminisces montage of fleeting memories of their entire life on their deathbed.
bahZ.. An overly serious analogy, but that's what I feel it feels like. Even though one might seriously be intimidated by the workload of juggling between fyp & related research, scuttering to and fro libraries & places all around sch & sg, course work, tests, assignments, projects, discussions, presentations, a little bit of recreation, outside community commitments.. and deterred and perhaps stressed by it all, it wouldn't be an understatement to say this period of time will be missed in future.

At least, I know that these memories won't haunt me in future. hahahZ.

Currently catching the table tennis match between Sg and SKorea for the semi finals.
ooh~ I'm quite intrigued by Feng TW's style. She's reallie cool manZ~ :)
Actually, it feels really great that Sg got into the semi finals for table tennis (for now, and fighting on, since they're on par with Korea on 2-2, thus this is the deciding match played by Feng). However, no matter how I look at it, I'm still kind of sorry to say, it still boils down to being a match/5 matches between the Cn-born and Korea-born. I've nothing against where they're from, they have the top notch skills and I acknowledge that fact, but it's just not quite the exact elements for winning with glory I would say.
I'll be glad if Sg won this semi finals, but would be even happier and filled with a sense of pride if they were true blue Sgporeans. Sgporeans for Sg, that's the true meaning, in really achieving something for the country.
(Yeah, I know it's all talk with nothing constructive in just voicing opinions. And that the world is a global village. Talents come and go as they wish, to wherever which accepts them, or wherever they choose to contribute. But I'm sure Sg would be able to produce talents of their own, if she even try.)

[Edit 6.10pm]
Sg won 3-2 against SKorea and will advance into women's table tennis team finals!! :)

= Happiness's form? =

If "happiness" had a form, what would it look like? Yeah.. it would be like glass, because one doesn't notice it normally. However, it is always there. As proof if you change the angle you look at it, the glass will reflect light. It will state its presence and existence more eloquently than any other thing in this world. ~ Lelouch from Code Geass R2 ep. 7

= 16/08/08 =

Can't help but think, speculate, wonder, anticipate, worry, add a little unsettling, and be prepared as to how things might change after 16/8/08..

Just a few more days to regain back to the norm (hopefully it won't take a few more days than one), since it has already thrown my life balance quite upside down a bit.

It ain't good to be unfeelingly walking the streets and attending the lessons with an empty unabsorbing brain, and so absurdly undisciplined with my PR skills, as though the Ego and Superego are failing terribly to control the Id.

Sorry if I've ever responded with kind of blank/default serious face sometimes. Or maybe more blunt that I might have been. Or maybe more care less in some aspects I'm expected to respond with equal jest. Or maybe more unresponsive. Or maybe..
It happens. I know.
Gomenasai.

Takemoto (from Honey & Clover): Then, when Kazuo-san appeared, M said, "You don't have to only worry about me anymore. You can start thinking about yourself now."
Hearing that, for the first time in my life, I realized that I was empty inside. Up until that point, I was blindfolding myself to many things because I had to "take care of my M." But now that I was suddenly free to do whatever I wanted.. I had to face the fact that I couldn't really do anything. I didn't know a single thing that I was good at...

= 080808 Beijing Olympics, 0:08:08. =

Imho, the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony is extremely spectacular, beautiful, awesome, captivating (whichever vocabs to throw in). :)
Never a sports fan, this is definitely the first time ever I've even wanted to watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Glad that it's a worthwhile 4 hours spent, watching the showcase of what China (or rather more generically, Chinese) had & have in store from the past and to the future.
I especially love the parts where they combined quite the essence of ancient Chinese scrolls, natural landscape painting elements, music and graceful dance moves together. Really elegant. :)
About the directors behind the spectacular art displayed. :)
